This ministry impacts the lives and families of children and pre-teens through a program of celebration worship, scripture memorization, Bible study, gospel proclamation, and recreation to encourage children to place the Word in their hearts and build their lives on biblical truth.
At 6:00 PM on Wednesdays, children and leaders gather in the sanctuary for worship, pledges, and Counsel Time, before dividing into smaller groups.
Transportation is provided for children within the city of Lewisburg. Parents may call the church office (270-755-4010) to make arrangements for their children to ride the bus. For more information about the AWANA program visit the AWANA Website.
Children are an important part of our Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church family. In addition to our Wednesday AWANA program, we provide Sunday morning Bible study through our Sunday School Life Groups, a Pastor’s Children’s Sermon, and Children’s Church during the worship hour. Special outings, activities, camps, and other events are scheduled for children and families throughout the year.
Students in grades 7-12 are the primary focus of our Youth Ministry. Students are engaged in weekly Bible studies on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings, and are challenged to include personal Bible reading in their daily lives. A variety of events and activities are designed to lead students to deepen their walk with Jesus, fellowship with other believers, share their faith, and serve others. Opportunities for leadership are available as students are encouraged to help lead worship and engage in service within the church and in the community. Camps, mission trips, service projects, special studies, and weekend events are included as a part our Youth ministry to help connect students in the broader Christian community.
A blended style of worship offers opportunities for a variety of worship experiences through music. The musical talent possessed by the members of the congregation covers a multitude of styles and genres. Vocalists of all ages and an assortment of instrumentalists assist in leading the musical portion of weekly worship services. The adult choir and other groups provide leadership through a wide range of musical styles including traditional, southern gospel, bluegrass gospel, and contemporary.
In addition to weekly worship services and Sunday School Life Groups Bible study, a variety of ministry and fellowship opportunities are available through Mt. Pleasant.
